Ihr Aufgabenbereich
- Leitung und Koordination der Gruppe für Softwareentwicklung und IT-Administration (derzeit bestehend aus drei Personen inkl. Leitung).
- Übernahme der Agenden eines Datenschutzbeauftragten des Instituts mit technischer und fachlicher Betreuung in Zusammenarbeit mit den Zentralstellen der ÖAW sowie Vornahme der nötigen Dokumentationen.
- Kooperation mit dem zentralen Akademie-Rechenzentrum.
- Unterstützung bei der Institutsrepräsentation nach außen.
- Mitarbeit an der technischen Betreuung und Konzeption der Institutswebseite mit teilweiser Inhaltserstellung, in Abstimmung mit der PR-Beauftragten des ISF.
- IT-Administration mit Benutzer:innenverwaltung. Betreuung der Institutsserver und Datenbackups.
- Erstellung und Implementierung von IT-Konzepten (Sicherheit, Storageverteilung, Labor etc.).
- Institutsinternes Helpdesk, allgemeine Benutzer:innenbetreuung und -unterstützung.

Your Tasks
- Fluent language skills in English.
- Previous research experience in Ladakh, as well as in-depth knowledgeof the history and politics of Ladakhof social dynamics in building crafts, house construction and village organisation in Ladakh
- Familiarity with the architectural and anthropological literature on planning, building, socio-technical transformation and adaptation
- Ability to work independently, including conducting fieldwork, data analysis and writing, plus develop original lines of inquiry
- Willingness to conduct collaborative fieldwork and writing with the PI and the research team.
- Show awareness of ethical considerations in fieldwork.
- Understand issues related to personal and participant security during fieldwork.Be prepared to join an existing research project and actively contribute to its central aims and collaborative inquiries.
- Be prepared to reside in Austria for the duration of the position (excluding fieldwork) and actively participate in project events.
- Support the project team in applying for a European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST, https://www.cost.eu/) with the option to participate in the network developed.
- Submitting an article in the ERC-project monography in 2028 as single author or as co-author with a project team member, based on research findings.

- To conduct independent and innovative research on Buddhism in Japan – its doctrines, practices and/or institutions –, with research questions in the history of religion, cultural history, the history of philosophy and/or intellectual history (any of these perspectives is welcome)
- To actively apply for competitive third party-funded projects supporting junior scholars and engage in mentoring activities
- To provide expertise in support of other research projects at the Institute;
- To contribute to the development of the Institute’s publication series
- To engage in comparative and/or transcultural research within the Cluster of Excellence “EurAsian Transformations“
- To participate in the (co-)organization of academic events at the Institute, and in various activities within the Cluster of Excellence “EurAsian Transformations“, including public outreach activities
