Your personal sphere of influence:
As post-doctoral University assistant (40 hours) you will participate in research, teaching and administration at the Department of History of Art at the University of Vienna.
The Department of History of Art is the biggest center for research and education in the visual arts in Austria. It focuses on the visual arts in Europe from late antiquity to the present day, and on Islamic and Asian Art. There are currently 2000 students.
Your future tasks:
- Collaboration with and support of the chair of early modern art history (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Sebastian Schütze) in research and teaching.
- Collaboration with the Vienna Center for the History of Collecting.
- Contributing to the administration of the institute and your personal teaching (4 hours per week per semester).
- Preparation of a Habilitation in the field of 16th-18th century Italian art history is expected.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in Art History, on a topic of Early Modern Italian Art
- Experience in independent teaching
- Good knowledge of university processes and structures
- Experience in organizing workshops and conferences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent skills in German, English and Italian
