In addition to providing a solid academic education, we also place a special emphasis on the personal development of students. Your workplace:
As a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Romance Studies, you will mainly be employed in teaching Italian language courses.
The Department of Romance Studies is part of the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies. It offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degree programs in five Romance languages and teacher-training courses for secondary schools in three languages (French, Italian and Spanish). The Department of Romance Studies is a large department with more than 100 staff members.
Your future tasks:
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. That means an average of 12 semester hours per week.
- You will take on administrative tasks, especially in the administration of teaching.
- We expect from you the ongoing reception of the current state of science as well as the didactic further training during the lecture-free time.

We are looking for people who see university teaching as an interesting and challenging career field. Requirements for application are:
- Completed Master's degree or Diploma, in the field of Romance Studies / Italian
- Several years of independent teaching at a post-secondary educational institution
- Didactic competences / experience with e-learning and in digital formats for language teaching
- IT user skills
- Very good German language skills (B2 level)
- Good English language skills are desirable
- Desireable additional qualification "Italian as a foreign language ILS"
- You should be a team player with high social skills
