The Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution in Applied Mathematics, focuses on basic research in applied mathematics, and within the Institute mathematicians from all around the globe collaborate on common core areas in mathematical modeling, simulation, inverse problems and optimization. in Applied Mathematics

(part-time, 30h per week)

open from September 1, 2022 until December 31, 2023. Closing date for applications: July 31, 2022

The position is affiliated with the Transfer Group at RICAM, located in Linz/Austria.


The hired person should work on the development, analysis and implementation of efficient numerical methods for the analysis of MRI data from the human brain, in particular in connection with pulse wave velocity estimation in blood vessels in the brain.

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in mathematics.
  • Strong background in Applied Mathematics, in particular in Inverse Problems.
  • Familiarity or experience with Matlab and/or C++ programming languages.
  • English skills mandatory.
