The Institute of Biological Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist to join the NMR and DNP team (Kurzbach group) of the Faculty of Chemistry. The successful candidate will contribute to the research and training activities in dissolution DNP and biophysical NMR. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in supporting and developing NMR-based methodologies, while managing state-of-the-art instrumentation. The position is initially limited to 4 years with the option of subsequent permanent employment.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- Design and Perform DDNP experiments
- Oversee protein sample production for NMR applications
- Plan multistep approaches to structural biology and chemistry
- Present research reports, manuscripts for publications and oral presentations
- Holding indenpent courses within the scope of the Austrian bargain agreement
- Supervision and training of students and staff members
- Support with administrative tasks, teaching and grant applications
This is part of your personality:
• Ph.D. or equivalent experience in chemistry or a related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with NMR, EPR, DNP spectrometers and techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to collaborate with diverse research groups.
• Excellent knowledge of German and English (C1)
• Team player and high social/communicative skills
