Your tasks
We seek excellent candidates with a strong background in natural sciences. Successful candidates must hold a Master’s degree in physics, astrophysics or equivalent at the latest by the starting date of the position but preferably at the time of application. Previous experience on aspects of computational chemistry, machine learning and related fields, and a track record of team work will be beneficial for the selection, as will experience in scientific coding and scientific publishing.

Your Tasks:
- a full-time employment (40h/week), for a period of five years, with the opportunity of an extension of an additional year at an internationally renowned research institution dedicated to cutting-edge research.

The Institute for Austrian Historical Research has a long-standing tradition in the training of archivists. As part of the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies, which brings together all historical disciplines at the University of Vienna, it is an internationally recognized research and training center for historical methodology and auxiliary sciences (paleography, diplomatics, records management, source studies, etc.) as well as archival studies. The close institutional ties with Austrian archives in both teaching and research provide an excellent working environment for this position. Call for proposals
In 2023, the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) established the Antisemitism Research
Group, which aims to conduct comprehensive research into contemporary antisemitism in
Austria in an institutionalized form.
The ÖAW is inviting applications for 2026 fellowships at all career levels (from pre-doctoral
level). The aim of the fellowship is to close research gaps in the field of research on
antisemitism in Austria.
The call for proposals focuses on projects that deal with manifestations and actors of
antisemitism in Austria or with the reactions and/or defensive measures of Jewish and non-
Jewish actors. The connection to Austria must be given in any case and the focus should be on
the period from 1945 to the present.
