in the Quantum Foundations and Quantum Information Theory research group led by Dr. Miguel Navascués

For the last few years, the Navascués group has been investigating the feasibility of science fiction constructs, old and new, either by showing that they violate basic physical principles or by proposing actual experimental implementations.

Now, the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI-Vienna) in Vienna is offering a postdoc position, currently for a period of 12 months, to a highly motivated and well-qualified scientist to work in the field of Quantum Foundations and Quantum Information Theory.

Your tasks:

  • Theoretical research at the interface of quantum foundations and quantum information theory
  • Supporting the group leader in preparing project proposals
  • Being involved in various administrative tasks such as supervision of students

Your Profile:

  • A PhD in physics, mathematics or computer science, or a document guaranteeing to receive one soon
  • Ideally experience in supervising students and writing project proposals
  • Experience in quantum foundations, quantum information and gravitational physics
  • Experience in operational and quantum information-theoretic approaches

We offer an annual gross salary of € 56.861,00 according to the salary scheme of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Depending on qualification and experience, the salary can be negotiated.
