Your personal sphere of play:
Your future position is at the Department of Egyptology, characterized by excellent research in Egyptian archaeology, philology and history of art.
The department is part of the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies and our students appreciate the diversity of courses, internationality, outstanding research projects, interdisciplinary cooperation, the friendly and collaborative work envíronment, exchange between colleagues as well as exchange with the younger generation.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You build up an independent research profile in the field of Egyptology (Egyptian Archaeology).
- You are involved in archaeological research projects and scientific studies.
- You publish internationally and give lectures.
- You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
- You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
This is part of your personality:
• Completed doctoral/PhD studies in Egyptology / Egyptian Archaeology
• Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-reviewed media
• Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
• IT skills (e.g. Office, databases, GIS), excellent archaeological excavation and technical drawing skills
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a significant advantage
• Excellent knowledge of English (C1) / German (C1) and some Egyptian Arabic
• Team player and high social/communicative skills
