- Commitment to the goals of the Cluster and to the integration of its members as well as participation in training and transfer/outreach activities
- Active participation in the scientific and organizational activities of the Institute of Medieval Studies of the Austrian Academy of Sciences

Call for proposals
- The position includesa three-years-employment as a W3 postdoc at the IKW/ÖAW (with an option to extend the contract in accordance with the ÖAW career model if the budget allows) and a standard working place at the Institute of Culture Studies.The employment can be either full-time (one position) or 50% (two positions), so please state clearly in your application if you are applying both for the full-time position and the 50%-position or for only one of the variants. Your Tasks
- PhD in Geology, Earth Sciences, Planetary Sciences, Chemistry or a related field; experience of working in a research environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of clean laboratory work incl. preparation and purification of geological and/or environmental samples
- Experience with (troubleshooting) MC-ICP-MS
- Mineralogy-petrography skills and other analytical techniques are considered a plus
- Motivated to work in the lab as well as in the field, across and beyond disciplines
- Individual who is able to work independent and as part of a team, well organized and flexible
- Excellent communication skills (fluent in English, German is an asset but not crucial)
- Motivated to contribute to scientific publications and to apply for third-party funding

Your Tasks
- PhD in a field related to animal cognition.
- Prior experience working and publishing both bioacoustic and animal behaviour/cognition research.
- Prior experience training animals in a lab setting would be ideal.
- Comfortable handling animals. Prior experience, especially with small birds, would be ideal.
- Strong written and oral English.
- The candidate should be able to integrate into a multi-disciplinary research team.
