Your personal sphere of influence:
- Focus in the first year: Implementation of an Electronic Lab Notebook, including the development of relevant training materials, templates, and a monitoring system.
- Advisory activities and support for researchers in the field of research data management and open science, with a focus on biological (sequence data, microscopy) and chemical-analytical (mass spectrometry) data and data analysis.
- Design and delivery of tailored training sessions on research data management and open science, particularly within the Vienna Doctoral School of Microbiology and Environmental Science and the Postdoc training at the Center.
- Design of workflows for data exchange and storage of lab-based instruments, as well as their implementation in collaboration with the IT team.
- Design and development of innovative discipline-specific services in research data management.
- Integration with international platforms for the exchange and archiving of research data—awareness-building for sustainable research data management.
- Development of processes, policies, and standards for research data management.
- Support in creating data management plans for national (e.g., FWF Austrian Science Fund) and international research projects (e.g., EU Horizon 2020 Data Management).
- Assistance with the documentation and archiving of research permits, such as those related to the Nagoya Protocol or sample import/export documents.
- Conducting needs assessments among researchers at the center.
- Networking within internal university, national, and international networks and initiatives.

- You will participate in research (projects) in the field of comparative literature. An interest in the research area of flight phenomena and/or memory studies (with a focus on holocaust memory narratives) is desirable.

You have in-depth knowledge of contemporary Austrian history since 1918 and are interested in deepening and communicating this knowledge in the areas of teaching, research and public outreach. -
You are planning a dissertation project in one of the following areas with a focus on Austria: research on dictatorship and transformation; historical identity formation; interest politics, party history and the history of social movements; contemporary and media history; history of North-South relations. The inclusion of transnational perspectives (comparison, transfer, circulation) is strongly encouraged. In the coming years, the Chair will also encourage research on Franco-Austrian relations, particularly with regard to the circulation of ideas and the history of transnational political networks; a dissertation project in this area would also be welcome.

Position Overview:
- Acting as a point of contact/Coordinator in managing two large ERC grants in archaeology and archaeological science (the DISPERSE project of Higham and the RIFT-TO-RIM project led by Douka);
- Coordinate traveling and fieldwork arrangements, liaising with field-based teams of researchers in several different countries in Asia and Africa where the research is based;
- Taking responsibility, with others in the teams, for the sampling and recording of important archaeological material for scientific analysis (radiocarbon, proteomics, ancient DNA) from archaeological sites;
- Acting as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on scientific protocols, data management and experimental techniques and be responsible for the training of new members of the group;
- Helping maintain two separate databases for each project;
- You will contribute to the Faculty’s teaching activities;
- Collaborating with colleagues in the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology on a range of applied projects incorporating aspects of archaeological science, proteomics, genetics and dating;
- Writing and preparing scientific reports and journal articles and occasionally present conference papers and posters;
- Representing the group at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of the group or alone.

- Strong hands-on expertise in quantitative mass spectrometry (DDA and DIA) and respective data analysis using R and/or Python. Candidates having experience in pain research, (meta)proteomics or preclinical disease models will be given preference.
