Das Institut für Politikwissenschaft forscht und lehrt in allen Kerngebieten der Politikwissenschaft, entwickelt innovative und problemorientierte Forschungsschwerpunkte und bietet vielfältige Spezialisierungsmöglichkeiten im Studium. Die Mitarbeiter*innen des Instituts untersuchen den Formen- und Funktionswandel von Governance, Staat und Demokratie in unterschiedlichen Politikfeldern, geografischen Regionen und politischen Räumen.

The Department of Political Science provides research and teaching in the full range of core areas of political science, develops innovative and problem-oriented research focuses and offers a broad diversity of options for its students to seek specialisation. Its staff is currently involved in examining the transformation of governance, state and democracy in different policy areas, geographical regions and political spaces.

- Auf- und Ausbau eines selbstständigen Forschungsprofils in Kooperation mit Kolleg*innen am EIF;
- Internationale Publikations- und Vortragstätigkeit;
- Aufbau langfristiger Forschungsstrukturen und die Einwerbung von Drittmitteln;
- Abhaltung von Lehrveranstaltungen und Studierendenbetreuung;
- Mitwirkung in Forschungsprojekten und Durchführung internationaler Konferenzen;
- Mitwirkung an Evaluierungsmaßnahmen und in der Qualitätssicherung;
- Mitwirkung in der Forschungs-, Lehr- und Institutsadministration;
