- Editorial management of the department’s international scholarly publications — on the one hand, the journal “Tyche. Beiträge zur Alten Geschichte, Papyrologie und Epigraphik,” published both in print and Open Access (annual volumes as well as supplement and special volumes), and on the other hand, the electronic Open Access series “Wiener Beiträge zur Alten Geschichte online (WBAGon)”
- Oversee the research area “Austria Romana Austriaca” (Roman Austria), to which you will contribute through your own research and publications; you will also participate in research projects in this and adjacent fields. International lecturing is expected.
- Maintain the department’s archive of finds of ancient inscriptions in Austria (Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum; archive of the Epigraphic Database Heidelberg). This also includes preparing the “Annona Epigraphica” (annual report on inscription finds in Austria) and processing Austria’s inscription finds for the international Année épigraphique (AE), the annual report of newly discovered and published Latin inscriptions from antiquity.
- Organize lecture series and conferences
- Teach independent courses in the scope defined by the collective agreement
- Contribute to the organization of teaching
- Assist with organizational and administrative tasks
- Advise and support students

- Architektur & Strategie: Als wichtiger Teil des Teams gestalten Sie im direkten Austausch die Brücke zwischen unserer etablierten On-Premise-Welt und modernen Cloud-Services (M365, Azure). Sie übernehmen strategische Mitverantwortung und tragen zur Entwicklung eines zukunftssicheren Gesamtsystems bei.
- Innovation & Projekte: Sie treiben eigenverantwortlich Projekte rund um Microsoft 365, unterstützen bei Software-Implementierungen und sorgen durch kurze Entscheidungswege dafür, dass unsere technologische Landschaft sich kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt.
- Automatisierung & Effizienz: Sie optimieren unsere Prozesse durch Skripting und den Einsatz von Tools wie ManageEngine und heben Effizienzen – von der Softwareverteilung bis zum Identity Management.
- Security & Identity:Sie wirken bei der Konzeption und dem Ausbau unserer Sicherheitsarchitektur mit (PKI, Conditional Access, Microsoft Entra ID) und stellen einen sicheren Betrieb sicher.

Your personal sphere of play:
- Collaborative and independent research in organic synthesis: Develop and pursue an original research program focused on new organic reactivity, synthetic methodology, and the synthesis of complex molecular architectures, while actively contributing to the host research group's scientific activities.
- Student supervision and mentoring: Co-supervise bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students within the research group, providing close scientific guidance, regular feedback, and structured mentoring in modern organic chemistry.
- Research grant applications and funding strategy: Actively contribute to the preparation and submission of joint research grant applications and progressively develop independent funding proposals, supported through mentoring and strategic guidance within the group.
- Development of leadership and management skills: Gradually assume responsibility in coordinating scientific projects, supervising junior researchers, and contributing to group organization, with the explicit aim of developing academic leadership, mentoring, and project-management skills.
- Teaching contributions: Holding courses independently or in teams within the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. Participate in teaching activities of the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, including lectures, exercises, and laboratory courses in organic chemistry.
- Scientific dissemination and visibility: Publish research results in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and actively participate in national and international conferences and scientific networks.
- Academic integration and collegial engagement: Contribute to a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive working environment within the research group and the Institute of Organic Chemistry.
