The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Vienna comprises the Dean's Office, a Student Service Center, four institutes, and the Outpatient Unit for Research, Teaching and Practice.
The research group Clinical Psychology of Adulthood (headed by Prof. Urs Nater) at the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology is home to the “Stress Lab” which investigates the biopsychological processes that could explain the interaction between stress and illness. A methodological focus is on outpatient assessment research approaches and digital interventions. We offer excellent working opportunities (including a biochemical laboratory and a psychophysiological laboratory with state-of-the-art technical equipment), international collaborations, and intensive support for young researchers. Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You develop and strengthen a research profile in the field of stress.
- You are involved in research projects and scientific studies.
- You publish internationally.
- You give presentations at national and international scientific conferences.
- You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
- You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation.
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You supervise your students.
- You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
- You take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
This is part of your personality:
• Completed doctoral/PhD studies in psychology or related subjects
• Outstanding dissertation
• Experience in the field of stress, particularly prevention and intervention
• Experience with biological methods (e.g., hormone measurements)
• Experience with digital stress interventions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal English skills
• Proven research competence and initiative through international publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Experience in research management and leading project staff
• Careful, independent work methods
• Leadership skills and ability to work in a team
• Team player with strong social/communicative skills
• Strong management skills
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team

Desirable criteria:
• Teaching experience / experience with e-learning
• Experience in supervising students (bachelor's / master's students)
• Experience in scientific work (e.g., conducting online studies or ecological momentary assessment studies)
• Experience giving presentations at international or national scientific conferences
• Experience in offering stress management training
• Written and spoken German language skills
• Knowledge of university processes and structures
• Experience abroad
• Experience in research in a medical context/with clinical populations
• Experience in research with digital interventions
• Strong interest in clinical and bio-psychological research
