Your personal scope:
At the Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology, you will join the team led by Prof. Ingeborg Zerbes. If you are interested in criminal law, academic work, independent teaching and preparing a postdoctoral thesis, we look forward to receiving your application.
Prof. Zerbes' chair is an independent organisational unit of the Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology and focuses its research on criminal law, criminal procedure law, fundamental principles of criminal law and fundamental rights, selected areas of commercial criminal law, European and international criminal law, and comparative criminal law.
As a postdoctoral university assistant, you will be involved in shaping the chair and, in addition to preparing your habilitation thesis, you will work independently in all areas of criminal law and criminal procedure law.
The contract term for employment is 6 years.
Your future tasks:
You will actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:
- You will develop an independent research profile in the field of criminal law and criminal procedure law.
- You will participate in research projects and scientific studies in the field of criminal law and criminal procedure law.
- You will publish nationally and internationally and give scientific lectures.
- You will participate in scientific projects and in the acquisition of third-party funding
- You will prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation thesis.
- You will independently teach courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
- You will supervise students and participate in the examination process for the module examination in criminal law and criminal procedure law and the criminal law section of the StEOP.
- You will participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance.
- You will take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration at the institute and the faculty.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in law
- Outstanding dissertation in the field of criminal law and criminal procedure law
- Proven research expertise through publications and academic lectures
- Initial experience in research management
- Experience in organising scientific events and conferences
- Good teaching skills and experience in university teaching
- Excellent written and spoken German (C2)
- Excellent written and spoken English (C1)
- Team player with strong social and communication skills
