Your personal sphere of influence:
As an university assistant/university assistant Praedoc (contract duration: 4 years), you will complement the team of the Department of Dogmatics and History of Dogma at the Institute for Systematic Theology and Ethics at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna (Head of Department: Prof. Jan-Heiner Tück) and take on tasks such as actively supporting the chair holder in the areas of teaching, literature research and website maintenance. During the period of the assistant position, a dissertation project is to be developed. In addition, the renowned international theological journal Communio and its associated online platform are published by the department. Your future tasks:
You will actively participate in research, teaching, administration and collaboration, which means:
• Preparing a dissertation in our Department of Dogmatics and History of Dogma (completion of a dissertation agreement within 12–18 months)
• Your own academic activities (especially writing a dissertation) will be supported and encouraged.
• Participation in research projects and academic publications of the department
• Participation in and independent teaching of courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement for pre-doctoral assistants
• Co-supervision of students
• Participation in the organisation of conferences, symposia and excursions
• Participation in teaching and research administration
• Proofreading of publications and the international theological journal Communio…
This is part of your personality:
Requirements:
- Completed diploma/master's degree in Catholic theology
- Excellent written and spoken German
- Very good written and spoken English
- Good knowledge of Latin
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for results
- Comprehensive IT skills, especially MS Office for maintaining the website
- You contribute with high social/communication skills.
Desirable:
Completed diploma/master's thesis in the field of dogmatics
- An additional modern foreign language
- Knowledge of the history of dogma
- Knowledge of Hebrew and Ancient Greek
The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
