The Oskar-Morgenstern Doctoral School ("https://oskar-morgenstern-doctoral-school.univie.ac.at/) founded in 2023, offers state-of-the-art scientific training for doctoral students. Its aim is to attract excellent students from all over the world and guide them towards research, including in the field of logistics, within a vibrant and dynamic community in the heart of Europe.
The Doctoral School offers a 6-month completion contract for fellows in the field of Business Analytics, Logistics, and Operations Research, who have previously held a position as University Assistant (praedoc) or as a doctoral candidate at the University of Vienna. This completion contract is intended to support a highly qualified fellow in the final phase of their doctoral studies. The recipient will be employed as a University Assistant (praedoc) and will work at the Department of Business Decisions and Analytics.
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:
- Your main task is to complete and submit your dissertation.
- You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the field of Operations Research and Production Logistics.
- You meet regularly with your supervisors to prioritize your tasks and to receive the necessary support to successfully and timely complete your dissertation.
You participate in the activities and workshops of your institute and the Doctoral School. - You attend conferences and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
This is part of your personality:
General expectations:
- Above-average Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration with a specialization in Operations Research and Business Informatics.
- You are experienced in variants of dual-resource-constrained problems and have published research in this field.
- You possess excellent knowledge of constraint programming and evolutionary algorithms for scheduling.
- A high level of motivation and commitment to successfully completing your doctoral studies within the planned timeframe.
- Cooperative, team-oriented, and proactive attitude.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent command of English (C1).
