The Research Group for Applied Social Psychology and Consumer Research (Univ.-Prof. Dr. A. Florack) at the Department of Occupational, Economic, and Social Psychology is seeking a dedicated and flexible Postdoc interested in social psychology, digital transformation, and consumer research.
Our research group investigates how social and non-social environments shape individual experiences, behaviors, and beliefs. In particular, our objective is to contribute to a better understanding of how consumers respond to major societal challenges, including the current economic development, the demand for sustainable and healthy consumption, and digital transformation.
Successful candidates should develop a research profile in the group's main research areas (digital transformation, sustainable and healthy consumer behavior, psychology of brand management). Experiences in linking research on social cognition and consumer behavior are of advantage.
Overview of general conditions
The duration of the employment contract is three years, with a working week of 40 hours.
The gross monthly salary in salary group B 1 is EUR 4,932.90 (§48 VwGr. B1 lit. b basic level (postdoc)) on a full-time basis. The actual salary will be adjusted to the number of hours required for the position.
Your future tasks
You actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means:
- Participation in research, teaching, and the administration of the research group
- Teaching classes in Social Psychology and Consumer Psychology (on average 4 hours per semester, max. 6 hours in one semester)
- Co-supervision of up to 5 master students
- Conducting research and publishing
- Contribution to writing grant proposals
Job requirements
- Doctoral degree / PhD in Psychology or Marketing
- Outstanding research achievements; for example, publications in high-quality international academic journals in Social Psychology, Consumer Psychology, and Computers in Human Behavior (e.g., Journal of Consumer Psychology, Computers in Human Behavior)
- Interest in developing a profile in one of the main research areas of the group (digital transformation, sustainable and healthy consumer behavior, psychology of brand management)
- Teaching experience
- Experience in programming experiments
- Excellent proficiency in English
