The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution, is offering a Position as
Project Scientist Position (F/M/X)
(40 hours/ week; for a duration of 12 months; position to be filled as of 1 September 2025)
at the Institute for European Tort Law of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) and the University of Graz.
Your Tasks
- Participation in and coordination of international comparative legal projects (scientific focus: Comparative and European Private Law, Tort Law)
- Independent comparative research
- Participation in publications and research presentations
Your Profile
- Completed master's degree in law, with above-average success
- Excellent knowledge of Tort Law of one of the European jurisdictions belonging to the ‘Romanistic’ Legal Family
- Proficiency in English
- Excellent knowledge of a romance language
- Further languages (including German) desirable
- Experience in comparative scientific work and scientific publications desirable
- Experience abroad and/or ability to work in an international environment
- Good communication skills
- Team player, flexibility

The monthly gross salary according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) for this position is € 3.734,17 (40 hours/week, before taxes, paid 14 times per year).
