About the team:
Your future position is in the Research Group Software Architecture at the Faculty of Computer Science. The research focus of our group is on software architecture, software design and software engineering. Our team currently consists of 9 scientific as well as 2 administrative colleagues. We put special emphasis on a relaxed and cooperative working environment. Social interactions help facilitate active scientific exchange and foster a good atmosphere, and therefore play a big role in our team.

Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:
- You build up an independent research profile in the field of software architecture with a specific focus on:
- Performance and Reliability Engineering in Deployment Architectures,
- Software Engineering Methods for Performance Engineering,
- Software Engineering Methods for Reliability Engineering,
- Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), and
- MLOps/DevOps.
- You participate in research projects and scientific studies in the abovementioned fields.
- You publish internationally and give presentations.
- You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
- You hold university courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. Here, you supervise your students in courses about software architecture, software design, distributed systems engineering and software engineering.
- You are involved in organizing meetings, conferences and symposia.
These are your qualifications:
Must-haves:
- You have completed a doctoral/PhD degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a closely related field, whereby knowledge of computer science is assumed to be a given.
- You have established experience in software architecture areas such as:
- Performance and Reliability Engineering in Deployment Architectures,
- Software Engineering Methods for Performance Engineering,
- Software Engineering Methods for Reliability Engineering,
- Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), and
- MLOps/DevOps.
- You possess research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media.
- You have an outstanding dissertation.
- You bring didactic know-how and experience in e-learning.
- You have excellent command of written and spoken English (at least C1 level). (The team communicates mainly in English!)
Desirable skills:
- You possess very good German language skills (B2).
- You are a team player with high social and good communicative skills.
- You are reliable and can work autonomously.
- You have experience in research management and in leading project staff.
