With 27 disciplines and more than 12,000 students in teacher education, the University of Vienna is the largest institution for teacher training in Austria. The Centre for Teacher Education serves as the organizational hub for all questions related to teacher education studies at the University of Vienna.
The Working Group for Developmental and Educational Psychology in School-Age Children (led by Prof. Marko Lüftenegger) is seeking a dedicated University Assistant (prae doc) who is interested in exploring the interaction between school contexts (e.g., teaching dimensions, teaching-to-the-test) and students' motivation/emotions. The position is limited to 10 months and is offered as a Completion Contract.
As a University Assistant (prae doc), you will join the research team led by Prof. Marko Lüftenegger. The team currently consists of 2 postdocs, 3 prae docs, and 5 student assistants.
Your future tasks:
You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which includes:
- Contributing to research projects and scientific studies.
- Working on your dissertation and its completion.
- Participating in publications and presentations.
- Independently conducting courses in accordance with collective agreement regulations.
- Taking on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
- Assisting in the organization of meetings, conferences, and symposia.
This is part of your personality:
General expectations:
- Academic degree in psychology, empirical educational research, or a related discipline.
- Expertise in the field of empirical (educational) research.
- Strong methodological skills in quantitative research and experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Mplus, JASP).
- Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in IT applications.
- Initial experience in academic writing and research methods.
- Didactic skills and/or experience in e-learning.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, high personal commitment, and strong organizational skills.
