The Doctoral School of Pharmaceutical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences (https://vds-phanuspo.univie.ac.at) provides a cutting-edge scientific training for doctoral candidates in all fields of pharmaceutical, nutritional and sport science studies. It aims at attracting excellent students from all over the world and guides them towards research at the forefront of the DocSchool's research areas in a vibrant and dynamic community in the heart of Europe.
The Doctoral School offers a 12-months contract for fellows of the DocSchool who have held a position as University Assistant (praedoc) or a PhD position at the University of Vienna before. The contract aims to support a highly qualified fellow in the final phase of his/her doctoral studies. The recipient will be employed as University Assistant (praedoc) and will work at the Department of Nutritional Sciences.
Your future tasks:
As part of the interdisciplinary Nutrition and Decision Neuroscience Laboratory, you will be involved in research into the interaction between nutrition and cognition and their neurocomputational mechanisms. You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- Your main task is to work towards the completion and submission of your dissertation.
- You meet and consult with your supervisor(s) on a regular basis in order to priorities your tasks and get the necessary support to complete your dissertation successfully in time.
- You participate in your department's and the Doctoral School activities and workshops.
- You participate in conferences and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
- You actively seek support (workshops, training, coaching etc.) if necessary.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed Master’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Nutritional Science or a related field.
- Excellent academic and study record (e.g. FÖP and dissertation agreement within one year, annual submission of progress reports.
- High level of motivation and commitment to work towards completion of your doctoral studies.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, furthermore good command of German.
- Collaborative, team-minded and pro-active attitude.
- High level of written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with the structures of the University of Vienna.
