Your personal sphere of influence:
As a University Assistant Praedoc, you will complement the team of the Department of Liturgical Studies and Sacramental Theology of the Institute of Historical Theology at the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Vienna (Head of Department: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Feulner) and take on tasks such as active participation in teaching as well as your own research and publication activities. In addition, the department is involved in the international, renowned open access journal (Ex Fonte). Your future tasks:
You will actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:
• Preparation of a dissertation at our Department of Liturgical Studies and Sacramental Theology (conclusion of a dissertation agreement within 12–18 months)
• Own scientific activities (especially the writing of a dissertation) are supported and encouraged.
• Participation in research projects and scientific publications of the department
• Lecturing activities
• Participation in and independent teaching of courses to the extent of the provisions of the collective agreement
• Co-supervision of students
• Participation in the organization of conferences, symposia, excursions
• Participation in teaching and research administration
• Support for the Open Access journal Ex Fonte

Requirements:
• Completed diploma/master's degree in Catholic theology
• Excellent written and spoken German language skills
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Good knowledge of Latin
• Independent and result-responsible work
• Comprehensive IT skills, especially MS Office
• You are a team player with a high level of social/communicative competence.
Desirable are:
• Completed diploma/master's thesis in the field of liturgical studies
• An additional modern foreign language
• Knowledge of the Roman liturgy
• Knowledge of Hebrew and Ancient Greek
• Basic knowledge of church music
What we offer:
The duration of the contract for employment is 4 years. The employment relationship, which is initially limited to 1.5 years, is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-renewal within the first 12 months.
