Your personal sphere of influence:
The research group Scientific Computing, led by Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Siegfried Benkner, focuses on research in programming paradigms, languages, compilers and software infrastructures for scientific computing to support users in the process of solving increasingly complex compute- and data-intensive problems in science and engineering on high-end parallel and distributed computing platforms.
The selected candidate will play an integral part in the group's core functions, including academic administration, teaching endeavors, and cutting-edge research activities. This position is designed to serve as a robust foundation for your future career, equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in both academic and industry-oriented professional arenas.
The employment duration is 3 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 3 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration. With appropriate work progress, an extension to a total maximum of 4 years is possible.
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- Participation in research, teaching, and administration
- Contributions to publications/academic articles/presentations
- Completion of a doctoral dissertation
- Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
- Supervision of students
- Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and project management
This is part of your personality:
Candidates must have a Master´s degree or equivalent by the expected start date. The degree should be related to the position, e.g., in computer science, software engineering, or informatics. Background or strong interest in at least one of the following topics is desired:
- Parallel Computing
- Cloud Computing
- Performance Analysis and Optimization
- Communication Technologies for Supercomputers
- Workload Management and Scheduling
- Optimization of LLM Training and Inference
Our working language is English. Learning German is encouraged and supported.
