Your personal sphere of play:
As a University Assistant you will complement the research at Chair of South-Eastern European History.The postdoc position will be for a maximum of four years, the preferred starting date would be April 1, 2026.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
• You will be involved in research projects and scientific studies.
• You prepare and complete a second book which you could submit as a habilitation. Please submit a first draft of your postdoc project
• You will independently teach courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement, conduct examinations and supervise students.
• You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
• You will take part in the organisation of meetings, conferences and symposia.
• We encourage you to apply for third-party funded research projects.
This is part of your personality:
• Completed doctoral/PhD studies in history with a focus on South-Eastern Europe
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of at least two modern languages of South-Eastern Europe (at least one of which must be non-Slavic) and knowledge of at least two source languages (Church Slavonic, Byzantine Greek, Latin, Old Romanian, Ottoman)
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals or high-ranking collective volumes
• IT user skills
• You are a team player with high social/communicative skills and media competences.
