The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Vienna comprises, beside the Dean’s office and the StudyServiceCenter, four Departments.
We seek to fill a position for a university assistant (post doc) in the Health Psychology Group (directed by Professor Laura M. König) at the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology. Together with the research group, you will work on several interdisciplinary research projects. The focus of this position will be on conducting studies within the newly established research platform “AI-powered Personalized Nutrition for well-being and disease prevention (AIPN). An additional collaboration in the newly established research platform “Trustworthy Science Communication” and in the FWF-funded FutureFoodS project “FOOD-FRAMES” is possible. The group actively engages in and promotes open science practices (e.g., preregistration, sharing of materials and data) and science communication, and values diverse perspectives.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You develop and strengthen a research profile in the field of health psychology and health promotion in an increasingly digital world.
- You support coordination and research activities of the research platform “AI-powered Personalized Nutrition for well-being and disease prevention (AIPN)”.
- You contribute to research projects / studies.
- You write manuscripts for publication in international peer-reviewed journals.
- You present at national and international conferences and meetings.
- You contribute to science communication activities.
- You are responsible for project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding.
- You teach courses independently as defined by the collective agreement.
- You supervise students.
- You participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance.
- You are involved in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration.
This is part of your personality:
- Doctoral degree/ PhD in psychology, behavioral science, nutritional science, public health, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
- Experience with relevant research methods (e.g., conducting Ecological Momentary Assessment studies, data donation studies, or qualitative interview studies)
- Quantitative data analysis skills, e.g. with SPSS, R, JASP, jamovi or similar software.
- Interest in applying open science principles.
- Publications in international, subject-relevant journals (peer-reviewed).
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary cooperation.
- Ability to work accurately and independently
- Leadership skills and ability to work in a team.
- Distinct management skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility.
Desirable qualifications are:
- Experience in research on health behaviors (eating behavior, physical activity).
- Very good command of written and spoken German.
- Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning.
- Experience in student supervision (Bachelor/ Master’s theses).
- Experience in presenting at international or national conferences.
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary and / or intersectoral teams.
