The Centre of Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science is comprised of 23 groups that conduct internationally leading research in the field of microbial ecology and environmental systems science.

The Centre of Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science is comprised of 23 groups that conduct internationally leading research in the field of microbial ecology and environmental systems science. The Centre's Department of Microbiology and Ecosystem Science assembles an international, ambitious and committed team and offers an interdisciplinary scientific environment, cutting-edge laboratories and a creative working atmosphere. The PostDoc will be part of the nitrification group headed by Michael Wagner and Holger Daims.
The employment duration is 3 years.
Your future tasks:
- Quantification of ammonia oxidizing archaea and nitrification rates in agricultural soils
- Incubation experiments of soil samples with stable-isotope labeled substrates
- Stable isototope probing experiments
- Data analysis
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences
- Supervision of trainees and students
This is part of your profile:
- A PhD degree in microbiology, soil sciences, or a related field.
- Experience in soil microbiology and measurement of physicochemical soil parameters.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals
- A proactive, curious, and independent thinker who is motivated to push the boundaries of knowledge.
- The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international research environment.
