The Vienna Doctoral School of Pharmaceutical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences (VDS-PhaNuSpo), founded in 2020, offers state-of-the-art scientific training for doctoral students in all areas of pharmaceutical science, nutritional science, and sport science. It aims to attract excellent students from all over the world and guide them toward cutting-edge research in a lively and dynamic community in the heart of Europe.
The VDS-PhaNuSpo offers up to four completion grants (short-term finishing contracts) of three months each for PhaNuSpo doctoral students in pharmacy, nutritional sciences, or sports science at the University of Vienna. These completion grants are intended to support highly qualified PhaNuSpo fellows in the final phase of their doctoral studies. Recipients will be employed as university assistants praedoc.
At the time of application, work on the dissertation must be sufficiently advanced that the completed dissertation can be expected to be submitted by the end of the funding period at the latest.
Your future tasks:
You will actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:
- Your main task will be to complete and submit your dissertation.
- You will meet regularly with your supervisor(s) to prioritise your tasks and receive the necessary support to successfully complete your dissertation on time.
- You will participate in the activities and workshops of your institute and the Doctoral School.
- You will participate in conferences and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
- You will actively seek support (workshops, training, coaching, etc.) when necessary.
This is part of your personality:
- You are a VDS-PhaNuSpo member and currently pursuing a doctoral degree in pharmacy or nutritional sciences or sport science at the University of Vienna
- Excellent academic and study record (e.g. FÖP and doctoral thesis agreement within one year; annual submission of progress reports; outstanding publication record and conference presentations; etc.).
- High level of motivation and commitment to succesfully complete your doctoral studies within the anticipated time frame.
- Collaborative, team-minded and pro-active attitude.
- High level of written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with the structures of the University of Vienna.

Fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 3,714,80 (on a full-time basis) increases if we can credit professional experience. The contract will be for three months and shall start between 1 January and 1 June 2026.
