Together with a dedicated team of lecturers, you will make a significant contribution to the success of the students. In addition to a well-founded professional education, the motivation of students is also particularly important to us. We want to help young people develop an inquisitive and critical way of thinking and thus lay a solid foundation for future professional challenges.
Your workplace:
As a Senior Lecturer, you will be employed in the field of analytical chemistry. The focus of your work is on the organization, further development and teaching of courses in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Chemistry. On the one hand, you will play a key role in the practical introduction of students to a broad spectrum of instrumental analytical methods and, on the other hand, will deal with the computer-aided analysis and processing of large analytical-chemical data sets. Experience and knowledge of digital teaching and evaluation strategies for large amounts of data (such as programming languages Python and/or R) are required to fulfill the tasks.
The employment level of 40 hours/week includes an average teaching obligation of 24 semester hours per week of instructive teaching per semester.
Your future tasks:
You are actively involved in teaching and administration. This means:
- As a Senior Lecturer, you will be involved in teaching at Bachelor's and Master's level in the area of Chemistry.
- The core tasks include both collaboration in laboratory practicals in the Bachelor's degree program in Chemistry and the independent implementation of digital practicals dedicated to the digital processing of large data sets. The focus here is on guiding students in the evaluation of experimental data and the use of digital methods in a chemical context.
- The ongoing revision of the current state of science as well as further didactic training are expected.
- In addition, the participation in administrative activities, especially in the administration and organization of teaching, is part of the job description.

Admission requirements:
- Completed Master's/Diploma programme in the field of chemistry
- Several years of independent teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution
- Enthusiasm for passing on knowledge and for university teaching
- Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python and/or R
- Very good knowledge of German, good knowledge of English
- You are a team player with good social/communication skills
