In Chemicals & Materials, OMV through its subsidiary Borealis, is one of the world's leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and a European market leader in base chemicals and plastics recycling. Together with its two major joint ventures - Borouge (with ADNOC, in the UAE and Singapore) and Baystar™ (with TotalEnergies, in the USA) - Borealis supplies products and services to customers across the globe. OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

Our business

Your tasks

  • Work in close collaboration with the responsible Head of Department to develop OMV Group’s Circular Feedstock strategy.
  • Continuously monitor the market in order to identify potential strategic (supply and pre-treatment) partners across the value circle (in particular in Central European markets) and develop price and volume scenarios as input for Strategy, mid-term planning and CAPEX projects.
  • Initiate and act as project manager for Circular Feedstock supply and pre-treatment partnerships and joint ventures and in this capacity act as interface to all involved Group functions and develop and execute stakeholder communication/ management plan.
  • Lead negotiations with potential suppliers and joint venture partners in Central Europe to keep OMV Group’s recycling assets optimally supplied.
  • Develop/ improve pricing models.
  • Contribute to development and optimization of Circular Feedstock pre-treatment processes and projects to ensure fulfilment of Circular Economy business requirements in terms of quality and cost.
  • Together with experts from the Circular Economy Technology & Innovation department develop and establish appropriate QA/QC processes and systems and support supply partners in their implementation.
  • Ensure supply partners meet required certification criteria (ISCC+) and support supply partners in implementation of required systems.
  • Prepare presentations and motions to facilitate executive communication and approval processes on Senior Vice President and Executive level.
  • Closely collaborate with the Circular Economy Business Development and Circular Economy Technology & Innovation departments as well as Borealis Circular Economy Solutions to ensure cross-departmental/ cross-company knowhow exchange and alignment.

Your profile

  • You have a Masters Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or Law.
  • You have minimum 7 years of professional experience.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Experience in commercial negotiations and/ or negotiation of strategic partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Experience in project management and proficiency in project management methods and tools.
  • Understanding of and experience in the recycling waste or adjacent industries is a plus but not a must.
  • Self-starting/ self-motivating character with drive to deliver on agreed targets.
  • Strong partner orientation and entrepreneurial spirit with "hands-on mentality".
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship and network building skills (within OMV and outside the organization) and ability to collaborate across a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and relevant plug-ins (think-cell).
  • Business fluency in German and English; knowledge of other languages (in particular Eastern European languages) is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.
