Together with its two major joint ventures - Borouge (with ADNOC, in the UAE and Singapore) and Baystar™ (with TotalEnergies, in the USA) - Borealis supplies products and services to customers across the globe. OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

Our business

Your tasks

  • Developing and driving of negotiation strategy, negotiation of and leading impact in steering committees regarding current major long-term contracts:  
  • Developing the contracting strategy with end-to-end responsibility including negotiations with Governments, partners and contractors for the agreements  and co-decision making together with the business. 
  • Steering the strategic handling of procurement project portfolio (EPC / EPCM, tender strategies)
  • Protection of OMV’s intellectual property portfolio and supporting the SVP Innovation and Technology to build up and protect OMV's IP and technology licensing business.
  • Leading major arbitrations and other dispute resolutions resulting from major Contracts & Projects incl. decision on dispute strategy, handling of respective projects.
  • Developing and pursuing the digital strategy for the OMV Legal Department and holding co-decision responsibilities for cross-functional digitalization initiatives for the entire OMV Group.
     

Your profile

  • Master's degree in Law or related field. 
  • At least 15 years of relevant professional experience, especially with international transactions and contracts
  • Sound commercial understanding and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent know-how in the oil and gas / chemical industry as well as intellectual property matters. 
  • High cross-cultural awareness and strong leadership skills.
  • Curious about new developments in Legal Tech and its opportunities for legal departments (track record of implemented “legal tech” / automation projects is a plus)
  • Excellent English and German language skills
