The Institute for Economic and Social History conducts integrated research and teaching in economic, social, and cultural history, as well as history education in collaboration with other historical institutes. It examines and teaches economic, social, and cultural developments in global, national, regional, and local contexts up to the present day. We are a dynamic team and host numerous third-party funded projects financed by national and international funding agencies such as FWF, Jubiläumsfonds, and EU programs.

Das Institut für Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte (WISO) betreibt in integrativer Form Forschung und Lehre in Wirtschafts- Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte sowie - im Verbund mit den anderen historischen Instituten - Geschichtsvermittlung. Es untersucht und lehrt wirtschaftliche, soziale und kulturelle Entwicklungen im globalen, nationalen, regionalen und lokalen Rahmen bis zur Gegenwart. Wir sind ein dynamisches Team und beherbergen zahlreiche von nationalen und internationalen Fördergebern wie FWF, Jubiläumsfonds und EU-Programmen finanzierte Drittmittelprojekte.
