Special emphasis on the development of new synthetic reactions and reaction sequences, with an emphasis on redox-neutral amination reactions, transition metal-catalyzed reactions for functional group interconversion, hydride transfer reactions, alkaloid synthesis, and rearrangement reactions.
- We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
- You work on your dissertation and its completion.
- You teach within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration and have experience in academic writing.
- IT user skills: e.g. Microsoft Office, ChemOffice.
- You communicate in English (written and spoken).

Your personal sphere of play:
- Management of the geoscientific X-ray diffraction laboratory "GeoX" in particular the technical maintenance of the instruments, as well as ensuring and documenting the operation of the individual diffractometers, as well as administration of the user base.
- Performing measurements, evaluations, report preparation, and invoicing for contract analyses in the field of X-ray crystallography.
- Supporting and training independent instrument users.
- Teaching theory and practice in X-ray crystallography and its application to powder diffractometry, X-ray phase analysis, and X-ray structure determination, with an extent of teaching as required by the universities' collective bargaining agreement.
- Willingness to collaborate across departments, faculties, and universities with research groups from various areas of materials-oriented geosciences and chemistry, especially within the future competence platform Cryst@VIE.
- Responsible implementation of the relevant official radiation protection guidelines for the operation of the instruments and relevant laboratory facilities, as well as interaction and communication with the responsible authorities.
- Willingness to raise third-party funds, and to establish and maintain active industry contacts.

Tasks:
- Active support of the Dean in all strategic planning work related to the establishment of the E167 institute
- Central coordination and interface function in the planning and construction phase between the Faculty, construction institutions, consultants, and the Buildings and Technology Department (GUT) at TU Wien, as well as active user representation with accompanying management of the planning and construction process.
- Management, further development, and monitoring of the start-up phase of the institute's establishment during the virtual or decentralized phase as an organizational unit with independent budget responsibility
- Active participation in the identification of funding instruments for the start-up financing of research activities at institute E167 as well as project management, i.e., support of the department management in economic and administrative matters, steering intervention in the event of expected significant deviations from the project plan.
- Establishment of site management for regular operations from the time the Hainburg campus is becoming operational on-site, with regard to administration and monitoring, with independent budgetary authority
- Personnel planning and recruitment
- Planning, administration, and monitoring of the budget, including project controlling and reporting (personnel and material costs budget)
- Communication interface with regard to the participating research partners, within the TU, within the campus, and at the international level; communication interface with regard to research and teaching coordination
- Independent and autonomous organizational activities (organization of events to establish the research portfolio and Hainburg as a research site).
- Collaboration on strategic reporting within TU and in the context of reporting obligations of the faculty and TU Wien as a whole.
- Collaboration in the local TU Wien EULiST coordination team to ensure the strategic and operational integration of EU Alliance activities on the Hainburg campus.
